The Kit Carson State Bank, Burlington opened on September 5,
2000. Burlington is located on Interstate 70, 13 miles west of
the Kansas State line. Two other major highways also support the
town. Highway 385 runs north and south from Burlington. Highway
24 runs east and west through the town. Burlington is the county
seat of Kit Carson county and home to 3,500 friendly people.
Combining a mixture of old and new, Burlington has maintained
a very good balance in keeping up with progress, while at the
same time retaining much of the old town heritage from years gone
by. In keeping with that tradition, Burlington's "Old Town"
historical museum and park is a favorite visiting place for out
of town visitors. A "must see" is the nationally famous
"Kit Carson County Carousel" located at the Kit Carson
County Fairgrounds.
Each year Burlington is the home of the Kit Carson County Fair
and Rodeo. This annual event combines exciting rodeo action with
local events that showcase the talent of the local citizens of
the county.
Burlington, a major trade center for eastern Colorado, provides
a myriad of quality goods and services to the traveler and citizens
of area.
Burlington is also the home of astronaut Mike Lounge. Mike flew
on the STS 51-1 mission on August 27, 1985, the STS 26 mission
on September 29, 1988 and the STS mission on December 2, 1990.
Today he is an astronaut training instructor. There is a street
in Burlington named after Mike.

From the West exit, follow Lincoln Ave. to the first stop light,
turn right on Rose Ave. and it is a half block to the East. There
is a 24 hour indoor ATM located on the East side of the bank.
Bank hours are from 8:30 to 4:00 and Drive Up is from 8:00 to
